Body Motion Signature

As if there aren’t already enough biometric identification information – from the basic fingerprint, to iris scan, voice and speech patterns, etc. – experts are developing a new way of identifying people – by their unique body motions:

Titled the Green Dot Project:

To identify who is in the video, the computer first looks for movement in the scene. Green dots indicate motion. As the video plays, and the computer collects motion data, it can eventually isolate and identify the human. The moving bar chart shows a comparison of the motion signatures of Senator Obama, Senator McCain, and President Bush as the computer is collecting data.   The blue bar represents “Obama-ness”. Red represents “McCain-ness”. White represents “Bush-ness”. By the end of these short clips, the computer can tell us which person is in each video. You can choose to listen to the audio, but the computer uses only movement data to detect the body signature.

Like The future first lady was rumored to say, There have been times when I was not proud of my country. Obama will be a fine president, just like all other presidents he will do exactly as his corporate sponsors tell him. Follow the money and you will find out more about a politician than anything recorded in the papers. If you follow Obama’s money trial, a significant portion can from the people. Maybe he will be what Kennedy could have been. I didn’t lose faith in a party over the last eight years, I lost faith in the foundation of the entire system. A system which Obama is as much a part of us Bush and Cheney McCain and the greatest majority of our Senators and Representatives. I have Hope, I hope that our president can make me proud to be American again. All of us are stuck in the ditch right now, but some of us look at the stars.

Wow, what a completely off-topic ramble in comment number 1. Where do these people come form and why must they mess up every chance at intelligent conversation?

very interesting, but it naturally sparks lots of questions in my mind.

I’m waiting to get flamed here, because i’ve probably missed some obvious link…how are the position of the dots derived, let alone how they reposition from frame to frame? I also wonder if camera rotation or a change of perspective also throws things off?

    That’s cool.
Interesting to see that McCain’s body movements seem to be much more unique to him than Obama’s or Bush’s.

It wasn’t a rumor that the ffl said it. It is a FACT. Beyond that Democrats are generally delusional, emotional, mean spirited mush brains. Your call for group hug is fine except coming from Rabid Bush haters still yet to wipe the foam and spittle off their chins after 8 years causes a trust issue. One suspects being hugged by a liberal includes a dagger in the back.
